Culture in Motion celebrates the dynamic spirit and enduring significance of dance through a vibrant selection of American art. Opening Friday, July 25 at The Owings Gallery on Palace, this exhibition brings together diverse works from the early 20th century to the present, showcasing a wide range of media, styles, and perspectives.

As one of humanity’s most ancient and universal art forms, dance has long served as a powerful vehicle for personal expression and cultural storytelling. Culture in Motion highlights how artists have interpreted and honored this tradition, both within the American Southwest and across global cultures.

Featured artists include William Henderson, Gene Kloss, Dorothy Brett, Robert Henri, Gerald Cassidy, Gustave Baumann, Will Shuster, Abraham Walkowitz, Lloyd Moylan, Stephen Mopope, Dan Namingha, and Tony Abeyta.
